Yarn bombing is back in Studley as Three Lions make postbox debut

THE STUDLEY Stitchers have been back knitting up a storm with their newest postbox topper.

Woollen versions of Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford have been installed in the village made by the knitting enthusiasts.

The group intends to keep adding a knitted football to the artwork each time a goal is scored by one of the squad.

The small group of largely anonymous knitters has evolved over the years from one decorated box to several.

Residents old and young are visiting the pillar boxes to take photos to share with families and friends.

The yarn bombing started when a member of the group saw something similar on holiday and thought it would brighten up the village.

Since the first Easter topper was displayed, the group has grown to 15 knitters and crocheters.

They aim to continue their work in the village and have a few surprises for the year ahead.
