Striking new community-led mural installed at living accommodation in Redditch

REIMAGINE Redditch and YMCA Worcestershire have installed a striking new community-led mural at living accommodation.

Over several open workshops, led by local artist Tom Cross, residents, YMCA staff and community members came together to share their stories, thoughts and reflections on what YMCA Worcestershire meant to them.

Richard Bromhall, Reimagine Redditch’s Programme Director, said: “Colour is such a foundational thing in our lives – it’s familiar to everyone, so seeing the Redditch Colour Palette used in this vibrant co-creation between artist Thomas Cross and YMCA residents is incredibly exciting.

“Thomas is a fantastic artist with a strong background of using visual storytelling to help people express what is important to them.

“The new mural at the YMCA has been shaped by the imaginative people who live there.

“It takes on their character.
