St Leonards Church Summer Fete hailed a success by organisers

THE ORGANISERS of St Leonards Church Summer Fete in Beoley have thanked everyone who attended and helped raise funds for the church.

The event included dog shows, pony rides, country dancing, crafts and face painting alongside food and drinks.

Michael Morris who planned the event said he was blown away by the sense of community that was shown.

“The feedback and messages I have received since have been overwhelming as people clearly enjoyed the event very much.

“Our community showed very well what it can do when we come together to make an especially memorable occasion and one that represents the best of who we are.

“This was my first attempt at organising this event so some of it was experimental, and as a church, we can only build on what we achieved this year.”

He thanked the live entertainers including the church choir, Lampshade and Beoley First School and Rev Gail Rogers for her support.

He added: “A special thanks goes to my wonderful organising committee who didn’t let me down and helped make my vision an amazing reality.

“Endless hours were spent organising various licences, risk assessments, insurance, accounts, and equipment.

“Friendships were formed and, if they didn’t already, the whole community now knows my name – I was raised to believe in the power of prayer and I’m now sure God called upon me to bring this event to my community.”
