Solar eclipse brings generations together at Great Alne retirement village

A RETIREMENT village in Great Alne hosted an eclipse viewing party for residents and their families.

The evening saw old and young come together to watch the eclipse, where  90 per cent of the sun was covered by the moon around at its peak.

People were advised not to look at the sun directly but to either wear special solar eclipse glasses, use a colander or a pinhole camera to see the event.
