Parents and pupils celebrate Woodrow First School leavers’ picnic

PUPILS, parents and staff at Woodrow First School and Nursery came together to celebrate the school’s annual end-of-year leavers’ picnic.

The event marked the achievements of year four pupils as they prepared to move to middle school.

The picnic brought together departing pupils, parents, grandparents and teachers to reflect on the academic year and celebrate the children’s success.

Redditch MP Chris Bloore attended the event  following an invitation from headteacher Richard Kieran, with whom he has worked closely in the weeks leading up to the end of term.

Mr Bloore said: “There were tears from parents and grandparents but there was also excitement for what lies ahead for these young people as they take their next steps.

“Schools like Woodrow First School play an important role in our community.
