Off-road bikes and arson in Redditch’s Pitcheroak Woods The Redditch Standard

THERE has been an increase in anti-social behaviour and dangerous antics in Redditch’s Pitcheroak Woods.

West Mercia Police has received reports of fires being deliberately started in the woodland and off-road bikes being ridden through the area.

The force said: “Both activities are extremely dangerous and put the public, wildlife, and our officers at serious risk.

“Setting fires can spread rapidly, especially in dry conditions, leading to major woodland damage and potential injury.

“Off‑road bikes are not permitted in the woods. They cause harm to the environment, disturb local residents and pose a real danger to walkers and families using the area.”

The police have warned anyone found responsible for fires or off-road bike riding faced their vehicles being seized, criminal charges and being arrested.

Police have stepped up uniformed patrols at Pitcheroak Woods.

And they urged anyone with information on the anti-social behaviour, arson attacks or off-road bike riding to email: [email protected] to report the details.
