£300 support available for low-income Worcestershire households using heating oil or LPG

LOW income households across Worcestershire who rely on heating oil or Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and are struggling with rising energy costs can now access dedicated support through the Oil and LPG Energy Support Scheme.

The scheme provides vital assistance to residents who are at immediate risk of running out of fuel and losing the ability to heat their homes or access hot water.

Eligible households can receive a one-off £300 contribution towards the cost of an oil or LPG delivery. Payments are made directly to the fuel supplier and are designed as crisis relief to help households maintain essential heating and hot water.

To qualify, applicants must, live in Worcestershire, use heating oil or LPG as their main source of heating and hot water, be at risk of losing heating or hot water.

They must also meet one of the following criteria:

  • Receive a DWP means-tested benefit
  • Be a low-income household (single occupier household income £26,227.50, multiple adult occupier household income £36,000,
  • Have experienced a sudden financial shock to household income, such as bereavement or redundancy
  • Be referred by Act on Energy or a Worcestershire Advice Network (WAN) partner such as Age UK, Citizens Advice, or DIAL

Additional checks will be required to confirm heating type and financial circumstances. This may include recent bills, tenancy agreements, or evidence of oil or LPG payments.



The scheme forms part of the Crisis and Resilience Fund, funded by the UK Government, and is being delivered by Act on Energy on behalf of Worcestershire County Council.
