Work has begun on the upgrading of the play area in Upper Field Close.
Contractors are removing the current equipment and clearing the site to enable the installation of the new play area.
They are removing the current galvanized bow top fencing which has been recycled around the pond to secure this area so that it is safer for young children and families.
The wooden sleepers which border the current site shall be removed and be replaced with recycled plastic sleepers which retain the large mound and these will be included within the play area to remove the litter trap between the wall and the fencing.
The play project works is being completed using local development funding specifically for play and open space.
The play area shall be closed for around 10 days weather permitting that work can begin.
